At Forest Ridge School they require their 5th grade students to have Tablet PC’s. This really makes me want to go back to the 5th grade! The cool part about this is that the tablets aren’t distributed by the school, instead they are a requirement that parents have to buy, such as buying a back pack.

Another added benefit of the Tablets not being distributed by the school is that they don’t need to police the units, and students aren’t tempted to hack the security as we’ve seen in another schools where students use laptops. This school is definitely heading in the right direction, and I’m sure these kids are going to have a higher rate of education and success due to this technology.
