Review: WordPress Plugin - Theme Switcher

29 May 2006

I wanted to briefly mention a WordPress plugin that I discovered this evening which is really handy. It’s called Theme Switcher.

I was looking for a way to upload a theme, and then preview it without actually implementing it, and this is exactly what it does. Someone in the WordPress support forums pointed me to this. Always a great place!

It’s pretty easy to use. After uploading it to your plugins directory and activating it, you navigate to your site and type in something like this:

http://blog.wp/index.php?preview_theme=Firefox

Usually the first word of the plugin name is enough to make it work.

This example is for the default plugin:

http://blog.wp/index.php?preview_theme=WordPress&20Default.

Notice the &20 for spaces.Your web browser should put those in for you if need be.

Check out the plugin here:
