Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer.

2 June 2007

If you’re getting this error message when trying to load an operating system, then most likely you’re using SATA or SCSI hard drives that aren’t included in the OS, and you need to supply a source for them.

If you’re using Windows, you would press F6 when prompted by the operating system in the early states of installation. Then you’d use a floppy to load the correct drivers.

Cheers.

  2. ashbaugh Says:

You need to boot from the Windows CD, and provide SATA drivers for your hard drive. You press F6 while the boot CD is loading, and then use a floppy disk to load the drivers. Then Windows will recognize your hard drive.

  3. nrzm Says:

sorry i think you didn’t recognize what i said about floppy disk sorry. I HAVE NO FLOPPY DISK . what can i do am asking if there any way to fix this problem or not that’s all and i hope anyone to help me for god sake

  4. ashbaugh Says:

No floppy drive? If you using a notebook you can also use an external USB floppy drive. That has worked for me in the past.

Your only other alternative is to slipstream your drivers into a Windows Install CD. Do a google search on “raid slipstream”. Plenty of resources out there to get you going.

    Cheers.

  5. nrzm Says:

thanks bro i will try the raid slipstream and it does not work i should try to lend or buy a usb floppy disk to fix this stupid problem i have never seen b4… and thx again for supporting me.

Reboot your system and hit F2 as soon as you see the Fujitsu startup screen (the options are F2 for setup, F12 for boot sequence).

In the System Setup screen, do these steps.

    Select Drives:
Make sure that “Drive 0: Enabled” and
    AHCI “Disable”

Your system probably came set to “RAID Autodetect / AHCI” - THIS SETTING CAUSES YOUR SYSTEM TO GO INTO AN IDE LOOP AND DOESN’T ALLOW IT TO FIND YOUR FACTORY INSTALLED SATA DRIVE.

Reboot - make sure that the boot sequence is set to CD rom before HD and make sure that the reinstall CD is in the drive. Setup will load, hit enter to reinstall XP. Your HD should now be detected and you should see the licensing agreement.

Once you have successfully reinstalled the OS, it was recommended that you change the AHCI “Enable” (or back to whatever your factory setting was) to avoid any problems with other IDE devices installed on your system.

I am having the same issue, except under my bios menu, there is no option to adjust the AHCA option (I am running a Qosmio G35-AV660 Toshiba Laptop). I am running two hard drives and I can change their state from 1Raid-0 to JBOD, however I don’t think that really has to do with anything. I was wondering if I could use a flash drive instead of a floppy drive to input the SATA drivers.

    -Thanks

  12. ashbaugh Says:

You didn’t say what OS you’re trying to install, but if it’s XP or earlier, you’ll definitely need a floppy drive. You can get an external usb floppy that should work. Optionally you can create a slipstreamed CD with your SATA drivers built in, but that can be a pain. Just Google it, and you’ll find tons of resources. Good luck.

I have a similar problem although I still get the same error even after I have installed the raid / sata driver during the setup process using the f6 key. I am using windows XP. I’m not sure what caused the problem to begin with. I unplugged my computer to move it and when I set it up again it wouldn’t boot.

ve gone into the bios and disabled ACHi and F6, and now i get a boot error blue screen of death for hard drive corruption 0×0000007b (0xf7c7b640, 0xc0000034). Does anyone have any suggestions?

Go to LG’s website and find your notebook under their support section and then search for a SATA driver. Download & save to floppy. Press F6 when loading XP and load the sata driver. Cheers.

I was just given an abs computer with an amd processor 64 bit 2.20 ghz with 2.00 gigs of ram and it’s running microsoft windows xp professional version 2002 service pack 2. we think it’s an abs ultimate m6, but have no way of verifying this, i just checked the specs and they seemed to match up.

This makes sense, but i cant find out where i can download the sata drivers from.
i went to abs.com which has driver downloads available, but all they have is drivers for input devices, sound cards, midi devices, and network and modem drivers and that’s it.
