The other night I received this error message on Windows Updates, and it wouldn’t download anymore updates. I browsed around looking for a fix, but none of them really helped. Here is what I did to fix it.

I went to: Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> View installed updates

Then I uninstalled the last batch of Windows updates I installed. However, I started from the bottom and uninstalled in that direction.

For example:

KBXXX - Example 1
KBXXX - Example 2
KBXXX - Example 3

So I started with example 3, and went from there. After uninstalling them all, and rebooting, everything was back to normal. Be sure to close all programs while doing this, and another good practice is to always close everything when installing programs, including Windows updates.
