Google PageRank Dead?
Is Google PageRank dead and meaningless? Popular tech blogger Robert Scoble seems to think so.
For some such as myself, Google PageRank is still alive and well, and is a measurement that allows new visitors and readers to reach your site. While other search engines bring traffic to my site, Google definitely drives most of the traffic I receive.
For a site such as Scoble’s, who has a strong readership base, I agree it’s not that important, but for smaller time bloggers such as myself I think it’s still quite valuable.
That’s brings me into another topic of trying to monetize your site. This is something which most bloggers try to do, including myself. My advertising falls into three parts, but the part which PageRank is important is the written advertisements I do. These opportunities are directly rewards based on several ranking features such as PR and more unfortunately Alexa rankings.
That’s all I have to say about that. :]
