Quick Update

I haven’t posted on my site the past few days, so I thought I’d throw something up real fast.

I have a bunch of good posts coming up. I’ll be posting some pictures of my RAM upgrade which I still haven’t been able to get around to. I’ll also be talking about a UPS I have from APC, and my experience surrounding that. Also something I haven’t mentioned at all is a case mod I’m working on for my notebook. I’ll be putting some pictures of the work in progress up, but to say the least, it includes putty, bondo, primer, paint, sand paper, clear coat, masking tape, etc… I’m actually surprised how well it’s coming along, but I’ve been taking my time. Each task takes at least a day, and then I just have to wait, usually for something that’s drying…

This evening I’ve been working on getting my server to boot correctly. All my drives use a SAS controller, with SATA drives. Four of the drives are in a RAID 5 configuration, and the other two are in a RAID 1 (OS). I like redundancy. So I’ve been having a heck of a time getting my system to automatically boot to the right drives, but I finally sat down tonight and played with all the LSI settings, and my BIOS settings and figured out the problem.

I also worked on my case mod, and snuck in a nice nap.

Well that’s it for now. Not sure if I’ll get any weekday posts in, but next weekend is a three day weekend for Veterans day, so I’ll probably hit up Starbucks and do some posts.

Cheers.
