Store Digital Photos

image If you’re looking for a good site to store your digital photos you should check out www.smugmug.com. Until today, I have never heard of them, but they’re one of the largest sites for displaying your photos online.

I ran across their site today because tech journalist Robert Scoble did an interview of their company which seems like it would be a really cool place to work at where they give their employees a budget to decorate their cubicles and have dogs roaming around the office.

For the price of 40 dollars you can get unlimited bandwidth for your photos and unlimited storage. They also have some options for storing video. They don’t offer any free options, but also don’t have any advertising which is always nice. It’s hard to find any site on the web today without advertising, including mine. :) Also their site has been profitable since day one with never getting funding from venture capitalist.

Sites like this make me want to run out and buy a new digital camera, maybe an SLR. I’ve actually been thinking about getting a new camera here in the not too distant future. Just last week I did a posting on a good solution for lighting your digital photographs.  Right now I’m using an old Pentax which isn’t that great. I suffer from what I like to call Shaky Hands, so sometimes my photos are blurred. I would really like one of the newer cameras that have integrated image stabilization.

If you’re into digital photography and are looking for a good place to store and display your photos you should check out SmugMug.com.
