Test Your Memory

9 December 2007

image Trying to diagnose a computer problem can be a painful process at times, and sometimes it comes down to replacing hardware if you have spares.

Many hardware vendors provide diagnostics software for testing systems, but sometimes they fall short of being great. One good tool for testing your memory is called Memtest86. This is software that will continually loop and probe your memory for problems.

The software can be booted from a USB key, floppy, or a cd-rom. Next time you’re pulling your hair out to find your system problems, give memtest86 a try!

Cheers.
