I’ve been running Vista on my notebook for awhile now, mostly with no problems. However, I think I’m going to go back to XP which I’ve heard will give me a slight performance boost as well.

Lately I’ve been having a couple problems with programs opening slow or not opening at all, and additionally problems with trying to restart / reboot Windows. SP3 for XP will be coming out soon which will enhance XP with many of the security enhancements of Vista, plus it will offer some performance and stability benefits.

While I like Vista, I don’t think I need it. I do like the sidebar and there are some handy gadgets I use, but I think I can live without them for now. So that’s my plan for now to switch back over to XP.

Starting from scratch is always a bit of a pain, installing drivers, favorite programs, etc. but maybe that’s a project for this weekend. :)
