Gizmodo Kills Displays at CES Posted January 12, 2008 – 5:02 pm in: Technology
One of the editors at Gizmodo decided to play a prank at CES and got a device that turns off displays via the IR port. They walked around and turned off entire walls of displays, and also turned off displays during people’s presentations.
I’ve heard the person that did it has been banned from CES forever. Also be assured next year the vendors will make sure they disable or block the IR ports on their displays.
Make of it what you will. Some of the comments people thought it was funny, but others thought it was childish.
Regardless of your opinion, they have a video of them doing it on their site which I know you want to watch.
Cheers.
