SanDisk Ultra® II SDHC™ Plus USB 4GB
13 March 2008
I’ve always wanted wanted one of these latest kind of SD cards since they’ve came out, and decided to finally buy one tonight. I had a 1GB SD card but gave it to someone else, so now I have an excuse since I don’t have an SD card right now!
The great thing about this SD card is that it converts to a USB device. All you have to do is pull it out of your camera and then plug in it. No need to worry about there being a media card reader. I’ve been using a Dell Attitude (Latitude) D630 for awhile, and these notebooks don’t have a media card reader, so this will be extra helpful.
I should get getting it in a week or so. I usually purchase everything online, it’s always cheaper. PriceGrabber is your friend.
Here is a link to it on SanDisk’s website. They also have an 8GB model, but I decided to save a few bucks and get the 4GB which I think will be plenty for me. I never even filled up my 1GB card, but now I can shoot all my pictures in the highest resolution.
Cheers.
3.18.08 -Update:
I was under the impression that this SD card works with all devices that accept SD cards, but that isn’t the case! Unfortunately for me, it doesn’t work with my digital camera. =( Well, I think this means I can buy a new digital camera now :) I’ve actually been meaning to buy a new cam for awhile because mine is a little old, bought around 2001 or 2002. I love the image stabilization features in the latest cameras. I don’t take a ton of photos though, so it hasn’t been a priority for me to upgrade my camera. Not including the cameras built into cell phones, I’ve actually only owned two digital cameras in my life. My first was one a clunker that stores images on a floppy drive, although very cool at the time.
